1st gen rear seat delete

Saw a '68 Camaro this weekend at Buttonwillow that was sans its rear seat and the firewall had carpet on it that matched the rest of the interior carpeting. Did'nt think to ask the guy about it at the time.

Is there such a thing as a rear seat delete carpet section? If so, do any of the major parts houses carry it (Ricks D&R OPG) or do you reckon it was a custom made thing?

I know they did it in shelbys but never heard of it in camaros, sounds like a custom job, and having had my interior completely stripped id say it wouldnt be too tough, just an assload of carpet, im wondering how he met it to the package tray considering it has a flap of vynil and some foam where the seat usually meets it...

That's exactly what I want to do to mine when I ever get around to doing a rollbar. I think it can be done in a way that it almost looks factory, kind of like the Shelbys. As far as I know, this was never a factory option. I'm sure there is a way to buy extra 80/20 loop carpet to cover everything in back. If you decide to do this, post some pics please.

talk to some of the carpet companies and see if you can get someone to make it, they would sell plenty of them, if not im sure you could convince them to sell you extra carpet.

They will sell you extra carpet, just be sure to order it from the same company that supplied the one that is in the car. I ordered a yard from ACC several years ago.
