      Subframe connector question

I have a 1962 fairlane 500 I've been slowly working on for a while, and am just about to the point where I'd like to put subframe connectors in it. It will just be a driver with a near-stock 302 and a c4. My question is how thin is "too" thin? I've read a little, and the general idea is that .083 is okay, .120 is great, and anything more is overkill. But I have two pieces of 2x2 .065 tubing that are long enough to run the connectors with enough left over to tie into the rockers. I plan running through the floor with whatever thickness I end up going with. I just wonder if the .065 tied into everything would be enough, or if I should try finding something a little heavier around me. Thanks in advance.
