      69 Camaro - wheel/pricing

i'm new to the site (and to pro touring) so please excuse me if this has been asked a thousand times.... i'm trying to locate a wheel combo (18x12 and 17x7 or so) for my mini tub camaro that i won't have to spend $3000 (just wheels)... i have found several styles i like but the width on the 18's normally stop at 10". i would like to spend around $1600 - $1800 for all four wheels. is this possible or am i just not looking in the right places? thanks in advance for any advice and awesome site!!

$400-$450 per wheel is going to be pretty tough when considering 18x12s. Most 18x12s are in the $600-1500 range per wheel, but there are bargains to be found. Try locating a set of wheels that are slightly used, or were purchased new, but the project never made it to completion. Also, you may want to stuff more than a 17x7 up front, or the car is really going to push in the corners. With a 225 or 235/335 combo, you're looking at 100+mm difference front to rear. That's going to have negative effects on the handling.

Edit - Here's another thread on the topic: https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/sh...ighlight=18x12

i guess i'll have to adjust the budget at least a grand.... and it looks like people are going with at least 8" wheels up front so i'll take your advise and go bigger.... thanks for the help!!

colorado custom makes nice rims for less...I bought my set of 18X12 and 18x9.5 for around $1500. 12's are usually a custom build. Also check with INTRO try a 275 315 combo...cheaper and looks the same

I'll agree with Vince, a 275/315 combo would be a better balanced combination, and handle better. If you're set on running the 335s, ideally you'd want atleast a 275 up front.

try hooking up with that at a car show swap meet. Sometimes pricing is way better. Also keep your eyes out on group buys.
