First Gen TKO 600 Swap Questions

      Team,

Have a series of questions for the group.

      • I am buying a used TKO600 that was freshened up for about 1000.00 (i know its a risk but at this price I think its work a gamble)
      • I have a muncie m21 in the car now. I am assuming these items will work for my swap?
      • Pedals, shift lever/knob, clutch cable(staying mechanical)

      Questions:
      • I am a BBC in it now. Can i reuse my flywheel and just go to a 26 spine clutch?
      • What slip yoke works best for this transmission? I will modify my drive shaft accordingly
      • Do i need a new transmission support or can i move mine? if not which is the best for the money?
      • Anything else that I am missing?

The sticky is a gold mine of info if you haven't seen it yet. Maybe it will answer some of your questions. Was my main reference when I did my TKO600 last year.

      • What slip yoke works best for this transmission? I will modify my drive shaft accordingly. All Tremecs use a 31 spline output so a Ford C6 slip yoke from any parts store will work, but if you want something nicer than a cast iron factory replacement, we sell a billet version for $150.00
      • Do i need a new transmission support or can i move mine? if not which is the best for the money? You will have to modify yours to make it work or buy aftermarket. We got you covered for $299.00
      • Anything else that I am missing? Depending on how your shift lever stub is set up you will need a slight offset to the left to line up with the Muncie location. Not a big deal unless you are using a factory console. Another consideration is your speedometer and reverse lights if you plan on using either one the TKO are specific to that transmission.
