3 wire alternator function and cutoff switch

So lots of searching this and other forums as well as the diagram my switch came with I'm still a little confused.

Trunk battery needs to be NHRA legal-ie push switch power and engine stop. So a 3 wire Two prong plug-Plug #1 Field wire-basically turns on alternator to charge. Plug #2 red wire senses if needs to charge.
Third wire post-actual charging wire to battery.

Factory wiring harness Plug#2, Charging post #3 all splice to a third hot wire directly at starter connector then back into the harness. Field wire a separate wire.

4 post switch diagram Battery cable one on hot side one "cold side" shows a jumper wire to the hot side small post, then just "to alternator" for cold side small post-not which wire.

If we interrupt the field wire and cut power once the alternator is spooled up still get power out the charging wire fed back into harness. Same if the sensing wire is cut by the switch. The charge wire is still outputing and feeds back into the harness at the starter .

If you run the charge wire to the hot side switch with the battery cable it charges the battery. Cut the switch neither the battery to the charge wire can back feed the harness as the connection is broken.

      Sound correct?
