Which Harness ECM to use LS1 or LS2

I'm building a bored and stroked LS2 that was resleeved for my 70 Camaro. Now it is 454. I'm using ported LS7 heads and either a Hi-Ram or Super Victor intake.

My question is should I get a LS1 harness and ECM or a LS2 ECM. The motor has the 24 tooth reluctor wheel so the early LS2 ECM would work.

Either harness would need to be modified for stand alone and I don't want to use drive by wire. The trans will be a T56 Magnum. Eventually I was planning to go with a Dakota Digital dash.

I have found several places that list which wires can be eliminated from the LS1 harness but haven't found any for the LS2.

What are the pro's and con's for each?

Any suggestion or advice would be appreciated.

      Thanks

The 99-02 LS1 411 computer is probably the better choice if you keep a factory efi setup with a hi ram. I'd avoid the LS2 E40 ecm. You'll need to relocate the LS1 knock sensors to the side of the block, as the LS2 knock sensor will not work with the LS1 ecm. (LS2 block has no provision in the valley for them) I would also avoid a factory harness, have one made from scratch. Reworked factory harness is fine for a mostly factory setup, but when you start mixing and matching LS1,2,3,7 parts, its best to get the harness made to suite your setup. If you use the victor, my guess would be to use an aftermarket efi setup from holley, fitech, etc. I have never used a carb intake yet, so maybe some others can chime in on their experience.

For an engine like that, I would seriously consider the Holley HP, or better yet, the Dominator.

Thanks, I will look into that. What would you suggest for the harness? The Holley harness?

      Thanks

I bought a standalone harness (LS2) from current performance. They were the most affordable and can also make the harness custom fit to order.
