Optima Battery in trunk, Vented or NO ??

Hey guys, I was under the impression I did not have to vent a trunk mounted optima battery ?? I always thought AGM batteries did NOT need to be vented. It seems this info is incorrect ???

My optima is trunk mounted, on a billet bracket, not enclosed or vented. The 2 x engineers that have looked at the car here in Australia were happy with this setup, and confirmed that our regulations do not require an AGM battery to be vented.

Check out the current optima discussion over at Team Camaro. Apparently, optima recommends venting if mounted in an enclosed area.

So if it needs venting how can one mount it sideways or upside down?

They definitely do not recommend an "upside down" install.
