      AAW firewall mod

In the process of smoothing my firewall and will be going with the American Autowire Classic update series. I'm not too crazy having the fudeblock wires running through the firewall. So I thought about fabbing a new bracket for the fuse block and mounting the fuse block so I can keep all of the wires coming off the block contained under the dash, and then routing the wires that were supossed to go through the firewall hiddento where they're supposed to be. Has anyone done this and does it even make sense. Thanks

Your plan might work, another option depending on what kind or car you have is to relocate the harness just enough to hide it behind the inner fender.

In my mustang I mounted the fuse block behind the factory radio and ran all the wiring for the front of the car in the wheel wells, put a small connector just above the transmission hump for all the motor wiring. Very neat and tidy

I'm actually doing this on my 69 Camaro with a Classic Update harness. It takes some work but its doable. I used all metri pack connectors in my car so I just used those when I needed to extend wires etc. You will have to get creative but if you can read the overall wiring diagram and understand what needs to go where its not too bad.

I am using grommets and going through the kickpanels/firewall and to the appropriate place.

I used the American Autowire 22 port bulkhead with the Highway 22 harness. I ran the wires through the kick panel and the bulkhead through the cowl behind the fender.
