      Making changes

With the cage going in next week, I thought it best to redo the rear suspension now to help tie things together. Here is what is planned:

Keeping the Martz shock / PHB mount.
Keeping the Martz LCA/UCA rear end brackets. Using the LCA holes on them for the rear of the bottom two bars.
Building a new cross brace for the front connection of the LCA .
Tieing the UCA front mount in to the main hoop on the roll cage.
Putting rear UCA mount on the top of the 9".
Keeping the PHB from the Martz kit.

What all is needed to determin 3-link mounting points?

Here is what I have figured out so far:
Rear end brackets are 29 3/4" apart (14 3/8" off center)
Height of rear axle is 12 3/4"
LCA rear mounting hole on rear end is 6" off the ground
      Wheel base is 108"

Some more things I think I have figured out based on searches

Front Mount for the LCA should be 6" off the ground
Front Mount for the LCA should also be 29 3/4" apart (14 3/8 off center)

This keeps them level and paralel.

Top link should be aprox 75% of the LCA's..

I think 36" LCA's might end up being too long but I think I could fit 28" paralel ones no problem so that would make the UCA 21" long.

The links are going to be designed so the angle can be changed by cutting a 3/4" x 4" rectangle in both front and rear mounts. One thing I was thinking about doing, is setting the brackets for this using with 2 UCA's side by side and only running both UCA's at the drag strip. So when one link was in, it might be off center aprox 2 inches.

PHB has 3 holes for adjustment both on the driver side and passanger side. Middle is = to rear centerline. Thus making PHB 12 3/4" off the ground.

What else am I over looking at this time?

I would get a few books on susp. design and get to know a three link a little better.

Having the lowers level and even is not ideal for a three link. The reasons why escape me at this time(too much stress from a messed up closing) and all of my susp books are packed so I cannot refresh my memory. It has to do with the SVSA length and the lateral restraint point.

It seems the width of the LCAs are too narrow.

Maybe some others can chime in to help with your design.

I have an unlimited budget. That bad part is I have already used it up.
