Ground Straps
Wanted to know if not having all my ground straps hooked up would cause the gauges to flicker then shut off? Then it just shuts off all power to car and power won't come back on for a couple of days. Car is 85 monte ss with a 5.3/4l60 and has vhx gauges.

Check battery cables if you're loosing ALL power.

If you don't have any ground straps to the motor. It will slow crank like your battery is dying.

Can never have too many grounds. Need to ground the block to the frame, 1 head to the body and the other head to the frame. battery ground needs to go to the frame and possibly another to the body. Also make sure you have solid grounds for your gauges and PCM.
