APT Science Friction Clutch

[KB Camaro]

I'm finishing build on my 67 camaro and need a clutch to sit between a lsx 454 and tremec t56 magnum. Im looking for a clutch with a progressive release and minimal chatter, from my experience McCloed has a more on/off release so i'm moving them down my list. Has anyone had experience with the American Powertrain Science Friction twin disk Street Slayer? Paul at APT says their clutch is amazing and has progressive release, but I wanted to ask if any members had real world experience with this set up. If there is another clutch you like please let me know that too.

We offer Centerforce, RAM, and Mcleod. We feel all 3 companies make excellent products and as long as you match up the clutch to the torque and driving style you are building the car for. This is by far the most important part of selecting a clutch. I've seen situations where a guy will buy a high torque race spec clutch for a mildly built street car and he ends up hating it because the pedal feel is too stiff and/or it chatters like crazy on take off. Buy only enough clutch for your car and driving style, going too far in either direction will cause problems with drivability. Basically what it comes down to is that any brand you buy can be wrong for your build if you buy the wrong clutch.

Here at HDC we offer Luk, Ram and Mcleod . Just like Bowler said only get a clutch that fits your driving style and specs of your car. This will insure you of a good pedal effort and will make your car drivability nice.
