      1969 camaro engine stand questions

although it may not be correct, can't you technically bolt a big block to small block frame stands and a small block to big frame stands?

i'm working my way through a 2nd hand project. the previous owner had short/wide mounts bolted to a 1969 narrow frame mount. I decided to put the correct tall narrow solid motor mounts in. the passenger side bolt slipped through like butter. the driver's side is about 1/2" off.

that's when I realized the car has 1969 big block frame stands....but technically, shouldn't a small block still line up and bolt down using those stands? I know it could possibly create driveline issues, but having the extra height on the driver's side would help in my case.

I had a 69 Firebird years ago that I bolted a SBC up to a BBC mounts. I had replaced the OHC6 with a BBC.[used Camaro mounts] Was too much motor for the wife. Put a 400 SBC in it and it was still too much motor! Go figure.
