      Electric fan problems, help

I have a 65 gto convertible with a LQ4,LS3 heads, fast fuel system etc, painless wiring harness, dual electric fans, engine conversion and wireing done by previous owner. running and driving car.
Yesterday engine started getting hot, electric fans not turning on. I've checked the fuse, tested the relays under dash, and wired fans to the battery , everything working. Tested sending unit on rear passenger side of engine with test light, key on, has power. Tested temperature sending unit on drivers front side of engine, key on, no power.
Is the sending unit my problem, or something else? Any help would be appreciated.
      thanks

More info needed about this "fan kit". I don't know why the fan control relays would be underdash-much too long of a run for any kind of high powered fan setup. I know Painless likes to incorporate a fan relay right on their fuse panel for convenience but such a long power run to the fan or fan controller imo isn't a good idea. Do you have a link to the fan kit or a schematic?
