Powder coating lower control arms with ball joints

I want to re powder coat my Griggs lower control arms on my 94 Mustang. The ball joints are installed but I am replacing my rubber dust boots. Can I powder coat these without removing the ball joints?

I don't think so. Every time I've powder coated A-Arms I had to remove the ball joints. Something about getting sand in there will leave them ruined. big pain in the butt. You may want to tape them off and spray paint them instead.

I would also pull them .The high heat won`t do them any good.

No you can't PC with them installed - between the Powder & the Heat, you would ruin the Ball Joints

Thanks for the advice. I figured it wasn't a good idea. Hopefully I can have them removed and re-installed without damaging them.
