Stupid Noob Question...
Hi - wanting people's quick opinions...
A buddy of mine has a 5.3 motor with about 60k on it from either an 06 or 08 Tahoe - he can't remember and his storage unit is hours from where he lives so he can't go get the block number.
Long story short, he said i can have it if i go pick it up. I'm in NC, storage unit is in NJ. Could i be wasting my time heading up there to pick it up or either way - could i at least be getting a decent core for an at some point in the future LS + T56 upgrade for my camaro?

If you have the space for it, then grab it as quick as you can. You can take your time building it, or try to flip it.
Free is better than good! LOL
On another note, around that time frame the 5.3L engines started getting the 243 heads which are very similar to LS6 heads. If it has those heads it would be an even better option.
