Would you ever guess....the LS7 looks to have been a scam. A month later, no engine, repeatedly asked for tracking and shipping info. Nothing. Every now and then I got a text saying I'll give you a call or "did you get my text"? Other than that slow boating communication. Bummed....

If you have a number, I would report this immediately to the FBI.

Crap .. should have guessed when I saw this. I have to admit I fell into the exact same trap 3 years ago, maybe even the same guys and they may have moved from Alberta to Montreal. In fact I could almost swear that the picture is the same as well.

      How did you pay ??

Still on this search....why are these listed for so much? I see many of them for $10k plus and who can do that knowing the heads are gonna have to come back off for inspection and likely repair

Clearly you are not the only one that wants one of these, hence the high price. Personally, I think there are better options for the money.

Andrew I don't think they are selling for those prices. I have been watching the same auctions for a while! There is one on their for $9800 and 11 watcher, not sold yet. Original auction has ended a couple times with no buyer.

But clearly the seller won't take less...so...doesn't matter. Why the fetish for a LS7 anyway?

I want my car to be more street mannered. The more cubes I have, the less I have to "hot rod" it to make power. My LS1 makes 500 horsepower, but it idles high and drives like a cammed car. If I make abrupt, frequent stops it wants to die. I have had it tuned a couple times and told it is what it is because of the modifications. I want the power AND want the car to drive like a stock car.

What about the LSx 454? I know it's heavier, but with the LS7 you need a big oil tank, so the overall difference is not super dramatic. 600/600 HP/TQ...what's not to like? All for about $10k with a warranty.

Alternately, you can sell what you have and build a mild turbo 5.3L. Holley has a really neat turbo log coming out. Run a smallish turbo, have instant boost and torque. Also has a weight penalty...

Ok....so thinking of hitting the button on another LS7, I would like more opinions on a fair price? I'm seeing intake to pan engines for $8-9k, no sump canister,ECM,harness or exhaust....
      Thoughts?

I would say look into getting your existing engine altered to have the manners your looking for. I am sure the combo exists and still makes good power.

Scams! Can you believe I came across another scam? This one is an EBay auction. Started talking to seller over text and asked for more pics. The pics he sent me didn't look like the same engine in the auction. I asked if I could get a picture of the 7.0 casting and the picture I got was a block where I could tell it was an engine without the heads and looked like a bare block! Very suspicious. I got more suspicious when I asked why he didn't have a buy it now on eBay. Claimed eBay would let him because to so little selling history on eBay. Hmmm, a member since 2013, 100% feedback with 66 feedback....I don't think eBay does that.
