Tie Rod Flip and Reverse Taper

Been away a long time... Getting back to where I left off on my project. So, here's where I am at with my tie rod hitting the rim on my first gen.

A few years back, I sold all my C4 rotors, hubs, and caliper brackets when I first ordered the ATS Spindles. Now, I'm considering ordering the complete ridetech Tru-Turn package. But since I would have to get new hubs and brackets again to use the ridetech Spindles I was thinking of other ways I could combine parts. I've read the other posts on ATS Spindles already have bump steer correction and you can't combine ATS and RideTech, etc.

I'm wondering how close I could get the geometry using:
      1) RideTech Center Link
      2) Stock 1st gen camaro steering arm with adjustable rod ends flipped to the top side
      3) ATS Spindles

Effectively, I'd be trying to remove the ATS bump steer correction with this combination to get close to what Ridetech intended with their kit. I've seen tie rod flip inserts for off road truck steering arms, but don't know of any smaller inserts that would work for drilling out the first gen arms.

Anyone tried this or have any suggestions?

Using the shortest outer steering arms will help a little. Yours appear to be the mid-length arms.

      OUTER ARMS
Lengths are from center of spindle between attachment bolt holes, to center of tie rod hole.

Remember, Nova, Ventura, Omega, up through 1974 uses the same subframe as Camaro!

SHORT 5.25" LH-3954875 RH-3954876 Used on power steer, and Z/28 fast ratio manual.

SHORT LH-3902519 RH-3902520 turn stop pad is more pronounced on top, arm appears a bit thinner than later arms. 1968

SHORT LH-3954879 RH-3954880 (listed in parts book as 5.312" long, this may be the actual correct length for all short arms)

SHORT JL8 four wheel disc arms, 1969 Z/28 Heat Treated, Shot Peened, (probably short 5.3") LH 3916237, RH-3916238

MEDIUM ARM 5.5" length RH-3916266 LH -3916265? not sure what ratio. 67 and into 68 manual steer.

MEDIUM ARM 5.5" length RH 3954874 LH3954873 - All except for PS and 302 1969 only.

      LONG 6" manual, - LH-3902517 RH-3902518 (67, early long measured at 6") LH-3917193 RH-3917194 slow ratio manual steering.

The taper can be drilled out to 5/8" and a rod end can be used on the top of the Steering arm. BUT- The trouble with that is the increase in height is way more than you need to clear the wheel and the steering link may hit the idler arm and pitman arm. The worst clearance concern is tie rod to idler arm, I think it will hit there.

I did a mod on the one lap Camaro which raised the outer tie rod ends .5" the inboard ends 1.25" or thereabouts. It would be far better to have a new set of steering arms made than cutting & welding them like I did. I still had to put a bend in the inboard tie rod end for clearance.
