      engine pull tips/tricks

this should be a short thread. I'm just looking for those tips and tricks from people have been there/done that. I've pulled several engines in the past, but never on a 1st gen LSx.

      the simple questions are:

can I pull both the motor and 4l80e together from the top?
do I need to remove the hood?
do I need to pull the radiator to make this happen?

anything else I need to look out for, or tips/tricks that will make the job easier. it looks like I'll have plenty room to pull them together, but I assumed that on a Silverado before and got stuck in the trans tunnel. I really wish I had access to a lift so I could just drop the k member out. poor boy in a 2 car garage

When I did mine, I pulled the hood, core support, front end (leave the fenders in place. Then the whole engine/trans assembly can be pulled straight out without having the assembly high enough to clear the header panel.

I'll second pulling the core support.

Pulling the nose and the core support makes life so much easier, but could take more time.
