Rear-end not centered on 2nd Gen Trans Am

This seems to be a very common problem with 2nd generation camaros and firebirds where the rear-end is offset to one side, usually the passenger side.

I'm just starting to look into converting my 78 Trans Am to a pro-touring car and this is something I need to figure out. The passenger side tire sticks out about 3/4" more than the driver side so it's about 3/8" off center. I've been looking at the ridetech Level 2 suspension package that replaces the rear leaf springs with a 4-link setup. The instructions on their website say something about centering the rear-end before welding the tabs on the rear-end housing. See below.

Can anyone here who has installed the kit confirm if the ridetech system will allow me to fix the offset before welding? I just want to make sure I'm understanding their instructions correctly and if anyone has any experience with it.
