      should I replace centerlink??

I am rebuilding the suspension on my 68 camaro. I ordered the hotchkis tvs and was planning on getting the "performance suspension" front end rebuild kit. They don't offer the centerlink , nor does anyone else I have seen, does this need to be replaced?

If its not bent or worn out then just clean and reinstall. I think there are 2 ball ends on them, see if they have play.

i thought the centerlink was a solid piece of metal with no joints? no reason to do anytyhing but clean, paint, and reinstall.

If it is worn replacing it makes a huge difference in how the car feels. Don't forget the idler as well.

if your centerlink is bent at all, your car must've suffered some serious trauma at some point or another, and you should consider looking into the trueness of your sub and body (yes they are just solid steel with holes for the shaft of the ball joint to mount to)

aside from that, exactly what the boys above said, strip paint and reuse.

It's worth the time to inspect the tapered holes in the center link and make sure that they haven't been beat out of round by loose tierod/pitman arm/idler arm studs.
Holes not round = "wallered out" = replace.
