Gear choice
Hey guys. I'm gonna be running a 700r4/383 sbc (roughly 420hp) with a 18" rim and a 40 series tire. (Not sure the hiegth in inches, I'll check when I get home) truck will be street driven and autocrossed. Is a 373 gear too much or not enough? What's your opinion? Thanks

I think a lot is going to depend on what you want more. Do you want better fuel economy on the highway or more grunt for the autocross? Also how the torque converter is built will make a big difference on how it will perform autocrossing. If you give me your rear tire size I can calculate what RPM /MPH will be. This may help you decide which direction you want to go.

26" tall tire. I'd like more of a autox ratio.
