Do we really want to go down this road again? I said my peace in the previous thread. I still think that 20 inch wheels do not belong on a car that is supposed to be designed with the ultimate handling in mind. Once again, this is not MY opinion, but a proven concept based on years of development by many racers combined with simple physics. If you pay careful attention to the Cuda, you will see that there were measures taken to cut unsprung weight. The rotors were made from titanium. This was no doubt done to counter the 20 inch wheels. This is certainly a step in the right direction.

All hail the new king of pro-touring. Long live the king.
Yup, basically what I said The guy I talked to said, the car will be on power tour, and will be driven hard on the street, he wasnt' too sure about the track. He also said the owner did have an equal hand in the creation of the car. Ask Vince I couldn't stop raving about this car all day. Like Steve said, the best car I have ever seen. It wasn't the prettiest to the "eye" like the balwin camaro, but it is better that way! BTW whats funny is I remember PHR mentioning way back that they were planning this car to be the baddest PT car ever, and that it is supposed to do Everything better than anything out there. They sure did succeed!! All they need now to hold the crown is to go out and do it!

I was the only guy crawling on the ground taking pics underneath the car LOL. What a humper I am!! and if anyone is wondering, they (from what i was told) cut open the down bars on the roll cage, then welded a small diameter tube inside of it and then put the carbon fiber insert in the opening. So that is why you see carbon fiber on the roll bars. SUpposedly it also stiffens up the cage(the extra tube). Another note is that the body unbolts from the entire chassis, without touching the cager, the entire body can be lifter up(or something like that)

seems like everyone is concerned about the 20" wheels...Alloway and Trepanier both went with 22's..we felt like that overpowered the car..when the car is in competition it will not have 20's..our sponsors like Bilstein, Hyperco Springs (which by the way are Titanium), and Addco will tell us what size tire and wheel will make the car handle the best. The tires on the Cuda are what come on the new Porsche Carrera GT. I think they will handle what we will throw at them on the street

It's good to see that you guys planned multiple setups for the car (i.e. street and race). Too many folks assume that if the car is too slick or too expensive that it won't get used. K&K Insurance offers competition coverage, so running a high end car is not such a risky proposition.

I'm looking forward to the Maxton test.

That car was my favorite of the show. The owner is a friend and he has been telling me for months that it is the baddest MF on the planet. If you know Bob, every other word is a cuss word.. The pictures don't do the car justice. Alan Johnson and his crew are by far the most talented builders I have seen. Put this car in a room full of cars and every other car will pale in comparison. Bob deals in collector cars and I'm sure this car will be put up for sale at some point. I'm guessing this might be the first car of this type to sell for over 1 mil. This car was done in less than a year. I'm told Alan is building a Camaro that will equal this car. Seeing this car in person made the whole trip.

The whole trip makes it really tough to be happy about going back into the garage and working on my POS.

Wish I would have made my plans earlier so I would have been able to make the dinner. There is always next year.

Does it have an adjustable ride height? How does the front tires turn lock to lock?

It's not airbagged. Bilstein coil-overs. I asked myself the same question so I watched them move the car during show tear-down. The clearance is there.

Another subtle trick: The air extractors on top of the front fenders double as clearance for the front tires during bump travel.

Awesome car but not really driveable the way it was. Couldn't turn a corner to save it's life.

I'm going by my eyes watching it being pushed out of the building. The aisle is pretty wide and turns into a much wider aisle on the outside edges to go to the exit. Every car made it easy, but they had to make a 5-6 point turn to get it around the corner. And yes, they were turning the wheel all it would go as you could see the guy hit the steering stops every time.

Yeah, that's what inquiring minds want to know: is there a "streetable" configuration? These can't be the race rims, are they? How does it go through the drive-thru?? :D

Awesome car, but I agree, those rims are a bit much...

If you look at all the pics available you can see it has plenty of turning clearance. It has the heat extractors in the fenders for additional tire clearance along with several mods to the front suspension.

You don't need to turn when attempting the Z2Z challenge. Allen Johnson is right up there with Foose in execution IMO.

I understand that. I just thought it would be cool if the car was driveable on the street when it's show car tour is over.
