      Anvil Auto

Well as some of us have found out that anvil auto makes great stuff, we've also found out that they have had some issues with either delivery on time or quality. I have a trunk lid for my Chevelle that i'm quite happy with so now it's time $$$$ to order the matching hood. I do know that there have been some threads on here where customer A says this and Anvil says that as to why something wasn't delivered on time. So this thread is to give them a vote of confidence and prove all the nay sayers wrong I'm ordering hood part number 010701 glossy 100 % carbon hood for a 70 Chevelle. The order will be completed within the next 24 hrs. I called and left a message waiting to hear back. I will keep this thread updated as to status etc until I have my hood in my possession. So anvil, balls in your court, let's get this down and shown everyone you can do this like previous

Hope it works out well for you. I ordered a firewall cover for my Camaro and was told the following month. 5 months later and after numerous phone calls it was received. No complaints about the quality but definitely a holdup. Received an email saying that I need to order more in advance. Ironically I went this way to save time smoothing the firewall. Wtf?? I know it is made overseas, but I for one would be willing to pay the extra buck and get it a reasonable time to be made here in the good ol USA. I like their products but don't think I am willing to go through it again.

For what kind of car? Be careful though, it would be worth fitting the fenders to the car first, and bodyworking them as needed. I've seen new fenders that were absolute junk when bolted onto a car, hate for you to invest in duplicating that horrible fit in carbon fiber.

I received an email about 2-3 weeks ago which completely caught me with my pants down, I literally just went back to work after being off 3 months for recon on my shoulder .then of course I had some daily driver issues. So the long answer is yes/no. I spoke with Matt and he's been super cool hanging on to it until I finish paying for it (should have just paid it all when I ordered it lol). I'm guessing in the next month and a half I will have it . I also ordered A pillar covers luckily they were in Stock. He did send me a couple of pictures and it looks awesome ,installed the cowl vent screen too

Hi, Did you get the carbon parts?
You mentioned getting some parts made from a custom place in America, so did they ever arrive?
      Thanks

not yet still trying to get the cash together ...with the current exchange rate and then having to cross thru customs the 1200 left for the hood, 300 for the a pillar covers, exchange, shipping, duty etc comes out to around 2500 canadian . so its not like i can scrape it together in a week lol. problem was me being off and the hood being slightly delayed , i stupidly ended up spending the cash that was set aside for it . having said that my lawyer should have finished with sticking it to me and get me my money soon ( my mom died 2 yrs ago and had property in the states, the condo board was suppose to buy us out but didnt blah blah blah , a few letters and some legal action got this done but then delayed settling her estate thus tying up some liquid cash i had )

Sorry to hear about your mum and legal problems. I have issues with exchange rates and living in Australia there are huge shipping costs. That's why im trying to do all my homework and avoid some issues. We will get there eventually!
Hopefully you get to drive the Chevelle in the meantime. My Camaro is still just a rolling shell that doesn't even roll...
What was the place called in America that you found could make custom carbon fibre parts?
Talking to an Anvil customer here, the biggest issue was fitment rather than how long the parts took to get to them:

that's why I thought maybe just go fibreglass...
