      Chop top help

I am attempting my first chop top on my 82 240D rat rod I am building. I have done hours and hours or research but people just don't do cars of this era so something's I just cant find answers too so I was hoping to get some suggestions for you guys! So my first big issue is the front A pillars. as they go down the steadily get wider by about a half an inch. So when I do the chop things wont line up right, any suggestions on how to correct this problem?

      Thanks
      Carl

      - Cut the section out in the amount you want to shorten
      - Split the bottom portion of the A pilar in half and open or remove from the middle enough to gradually match the bottom to the top.
      - Get a piece of paper, draw two dots on top the distant apart on the A pilar on top, do the same to the bottom of the paper the distance on the bottom portion of the A pilar you want to cut. Connect the lines to get your angle. Now remove the amount in between on the paper and see how far the line is off. That should simplify it
