      shootout....

sorry its not what you think...its our 2nd anniversery for our union strike. 98 days out. We have a shoot out on the date we won. Its really called the "peninsula team shootout". Well you know I guess we can call it a PT shoot out judging by last years picture...

Went to the NASA event on Sunday. In conjunction with the racing there was also a couple of different driving schools/open track groups. Those guys got 4-5 20 minute sessions...a lot of driving, especially considering there was a race going on as well.

Anyway, the racing was pretty enjoyable. The Camaro/Mustang challenge and AIX race was cool. There were a couple of Panoz GT cars and an ABSOLUTELY SICK Shelby Daytona Coupe (copy) that were hauling mucho okole.
The tightest racing was in the group with the acura integras, VW Golfs and RX-7s. Tight......but slow. Some guy wadded up a spec-miata in a horrific crash just after turn 8 (pretty fast part of the circuit). Rolled it like 3 times the cage caved in a little, but did not break. It did it's job. The car is a total loss, but he walked away.
There was a buttload of the little legends cars and a few of the legends roadsters. Pretty neat little rigs.

I dunno about actual "racing" per-se, but I gotta get out on a track!!!

I shant ask why you had a problem keeping your okole cool. Sounds awfully personal.

Photos are at wallgreens as we speak.

The car is a long way off unless I win the lottery or find out I am the long lost son of the sultan of Brunei. I have to get married and renovate a house first.

      The pics are here: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/true12...1242/my_photos

I can't upload stuff across the network here in the office.

      Some interesting stuff.

That Neon SRT-4 was just STUPID-FAST and made the most ungodly induction noise I have ever heard. It sounded like a small centrifugal flow turbine engine when he was on the gas.

      The Daytona Coupe was SIIIIIIICK!
How fast was it? See the photo of the NASCAR Monte Carlo? That was a brand new road-race cup chassis with a Hendrick motor. The Daytona closed that gap (photo #24&27) in one lap.

The Daytona just owned the two Panoz cars.
