      Coil spring dilema????

Something isn't right here. Bought a set of Hotchkis 2" drop springs off ebay recently for 1st gen camaro. The guy said he cut 3/4 of a coil off the spring for a 2.5" drop. Said he had them on his '69 Camaro. Anyway, went to install them and was able to put them in and bolt the spindle on with room to play??? Shouldn't you still have to use spring compressors to bolt the spindle on? Here's a pic of the Hotchkis vs stock springs of my '68 Camaro... The coil count seems right from the pics on Hotchkis's website. These springs were installed in his car but never driven on so there may be some settling that already took place.

No, there is play with no weight on the car.I thought there was a problem when I first installed a set. Put her down and see what you come up with. Make sure you adjust the bump stop rubbers after.

Ah ok... thanks for the info!!! It's just a front clip right now so no weight on the car. Now I understand why the bump stop bolt is so long LOL!
