      Radiator (Ron Davis?)

The radiator in my Nova decided the season was over so I'm looking for a new one. I have yet to see a negative review about Ron Davis. Searched around the forums a bit but the last major post I saw about them was from 2004. I'm looking at their "Nova Type" radiator, has two fans and I'd opt for the trans cooler as well.

Apart from opinions on the company, I'd also like to bring up a question about a much cheaper 4 row radiator. Ron Davis is a two row, which really ought to be enough, but my car has always run hot. Don't know too much about cooling, so I'm only curious as to whether a cheaper 4 row would work as well as a high quality 2 row.

71 Nova 388CI, makes over 450, maybe more than 500hp the car is tuned for the street where it spends most of its time.

Are they built from the same material? Is the thickness the same? If they are the two row will be better as it has better tube to fin contact, the space between tubes is wasted so a four row has three spaces and a two row only one.

There is a good tech paper here on the CR site which explains the different construction types of radiator cores and how they effect cooling.

Read the "Cooling System 101" document.
