      64 Falcon updates and upgrades

So after getting my 87 supra turbo totaled and selling my 650hp drift car (sc300). I have come to a point where i want to do something new to me. So i purchased a 1964 ford falcon futura this car was being built for the strip/street.

This includes mustang 2 front end done like 15 years ago it has been rebuilt since then but seems solid. It is also sporting a ford 9inch and disc brakes all the way around. The exterior is good at about 8 feet and the interior is in need of a headliner and some new paint and trim.

The drive train is solid as they come built 302 and built c4 (i want to covert to t5).

My plan is to put more streetable wheels and replace rear leaf springs with a TCI rear 4 link and upgrade the front to tubular arms and coilovers.

Then get the interior in perfect condition with some vintage air for the long drives.

Here are some pics of the car.

Good choice on a cool car--steer clear of the T5. Any mildly "built" 302 will eat it for lunch with "spirited" driving. This includes the brand-new unit that is sometimes advertised as "heavy duty," via Ford Racing (I had one). Aim for a TKO 500 or a T56. The T5 cannot withstand basic torque.

Should be a pretty bad ass car when you're done. BTW the t56 Trans get kinda pricy.

You might also take a look at a Legend 5 speed. Modern technology, easier shifting than a TKO with better gear ratios, and it's a lot smaller. Or look into D&D for a built up T5. A friend has had one in his Mustang GT( 1994) for about 3 years with a lot of track weekends and no problems. I love the design of this year Falcon. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I am trying to plan my attack right now on what to do first. I want to keep the old school look far as my wheels go. So i am thinking of cragars this and rear gears i think will be the first mods that i do to the car. After that i will be doing the interior work that will include patching the holes in the doors from some aftermarket speakers.
