Better at what? Getting T boned at 100, NAPCAR bars. For a wheel to wheel car, these would be my choice. The nascar bars are out of plane and will require a double S bend or notching the B pillar and gutting the doors. You also don't get the torsional rigidity or the support at the A pillar bar like you do with a double x.

The double X is better from structural point of view. For a track day/HPDE car I would go this way.

      Don't forget the FIA bar.

Heres my set up. They sit up higher than it looks as the camera is pointed downwards. Not too hard to get out.

that setup right there looks great for what I would like to do for safety and making the whole chassis stiffer

If you look at the drivers door you can see there's some real protection there.

What did you do with the door pamnels and arm rests? Did you cover the holes or put a strap or just leave it?

You open and close the door with the door handle, theyre plenty stout to do it. The armrests are no longer there. I dabbed some black paint on the metal that showed through the holes (my car has never been called "pretty" lol) You could probably make something to plug up the hole in the door panel. When youre going slow you can rest your arm on the downbar its pretty comfortable actually.

ANY X-bar should be built as two V shaped bars tied together. Anything else is prone to fracture in an accident and could cause serious injury or death to the driver.

      Like this

Also you never want any "S" bends in any part of any roll cage, they are weak and will buckle.

You need to get some sfi padding in there, that pipe insulation is virtually useless in a crash.

It isnt "Pipe insulation" it is purpose built Moroso roll bar padding with the roll bar cut out offset. It was installed in tens of thousands of race cars up until a few yrs ago but I do hear ya'. I like the old school look and will likely replace it with some SFI stuff in key areas. While researching the SFI stuff Im amazed at its lack of bar coverage in Nascar. It seems they just put it on here and there...I have EVERYTHING covered

The current seats & harnesses hold those guys so fixed into place that they couldn't reach most of the tubing inside the car.

I think even their "loose" arms are semi-limited with nylon straps now.

The padding is only required around the head/helmet area...that is where I would put the good stuff.

I really like the looks of the ridetech tiger cage door bars. These are designed for a roll bar but could probably be modified to work with a full cage. I assume they can be purchased separately from the Tiger Cage.
