Thoughts on 8000 RPM LS build article in HOT ROD online?

Thoughts? Good bad or otherwise....I think its a cool concept....curious how a different (more realistic) intake would adversely affect their numbers.....or what an ITB fuel injection set up would do to the numbers.

yea, I saw that article a while back. Ive always been fascinated by the concept of a big bore, short stroke, LS motor. The problem is, short of Danny Popp's destroked LS7, nobody has put one in a an actual car. All we've seen is absurdly high compression dyno queens, or more realistic builds with a big turbo. Id love to see one of these motors built with 10.5-10.8:1 compression, N/A, good heads, good valve train, purpose build intake (ITB?) and throw it in a real car....'68 Camaro?...'69 Corvette and then run it, both on the chassis dyno and at the track, and give us the run down vs. say the factory 525 hp LS3 crate motor.
