      Tire choice ?

Now here are my choices and prices that I'm looking at .
Continental Extreme Contact DW $1516 cdn
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport $1290 cdn
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 $2148 cdn
I'm planning on going with a 265/35/18 in the front and a 295/35/18 in the rear of my 68 Cougar build.
My first choice would be the Michelins but in the interest of saving $$$ , I'm leaning towards the Continentals . Your input is welcome people .

I have those Michelin's on my 71 Firebird and they are an excellent tire. Grippy, but not harsh at all. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great sporty tire. They supposedly wear quick, but my car doesn't see that many miles a year (maybe 3000), so that was of no concern to me.

The Bridgestone's you mention, I have on my G8. Grippy and the handling improved over the stock Goodyears.

I think for best performance a 295 is too wide for a 10" rim. Someone had a Ron sutton quote talking about this but I can't find it. Worth looking into though

What will you be using the tires for? Any track time?

x2. I just put a set of these on my wife's Audi S5 and they are light years ahead of the Potenza's that we replaced. FWIW, everyone I talked to liked the Michelin Pilot Super Sports better than the PS2's.

265 up front, 285 out back would fit your wheels best.

True , but the 285 has a smaller overall diameter than the 265 up front . It's starting to look like I'm going to need to re-think my rear wheel size . Good thing I haven't bought them yet . PITA !.

      Thanks for your input gentlemen

One more for Super Sports. The sizes you listed you can get a set for about $1,100 and are easily better tires than the others you listed.

If both front and rear are 35 series, the wider tire will be taller, whether it is the 285 or 295.

Ah , yes that is correct thank you. I was looking at the overall diameter of the 30 series tire not the 35 series .
