Phonenix Graphics stripe kit, any tips?

I bought a Phoenix Graphics CAM008 Template kit for the painted stripes on my 71 Camaro. Any tips or suggestions? This will be going on a freshly painted car that has cured for a few days.

My concerns is the glue residue left over from applying it with soapy water and letting it sit for 20 minutes (per instructions). is this going to mess with the paint or cause any issues with the new paint for the stripe from laying correctly?

First time putting this down and I want to avoid any surprises and hope someone has experience with these kits
