      Turbo headers for nova

Does anyone make good, but somewhat affordable headers or manifolds for 68-72 Nova/first gen Camaro w/sbc?
I love the Banks manifolds, but $1,800.00 seems pricey.
      Thanks, Steve

I thought the Banks manifolds were around $650/pair...

I think they go for about 1800, but I could be wrong. They sure look nice though.

I paid just over that for mine. Unfortunately Gale decided he wanted to "discourage" sales of the manifolds separately and promptly doubled the price to $1800.

Gale's not nice, I was thinking of doing a TT BBC for my Nova down the road, I have almost everything except the headers and a FI system, turbos,

Got any ideas on the FI system Jody???

I am leaning heavily towards Big Stuff 3. Talked to several high profile tuners who've been tuning with it and every one without exception loves it.

Several people have bought turbos from them off ebay and had them split apart after a few minutes run time and also intercoolers leaking. Read several posts on Turbomustangs.com and also bad reports from some on LS1TECH.com. Due some searches on ssautochrome and you will find out.

SS Autochrome headers are bad news. Pretty much all the pretty polished headers you see on EBAY and elsewhere are manufactured in China and relabled. Same goes for there turbos also.

I guess custom stainless or the Banks Iron manifolds are the only real way to go.

What kind of power are you trying to make? If it is in the budget I would definetely go with a set of stainless headers. If built properly they will make more power than the Banks headers across the entire power curve and probably not cost a whole lot more.

I built mine using a set of flipped S-10 swap headers, and modified them to suit. They are HPC2000 coated and have lasted for two years now. It isn't a daily driver by any stretch, but sees regular weekend use.

Mine is a 68 camaro, so they would work in a 69 Nova also.
