      Big Red Event Suggestions

      Hello All,

We are going to have some time between land speed races this summer. Do you have any suggestions of events we should attend? We are open to different types of racing and even some "cars and coffee" events. We are based out of Southern California, but are open to travelling to a cool event.

Maybe we'll get to see you all out there somewhere!

It's a long shot but I figured why not. The optima Face Off at Road America. They don't allow race fuel and the car has to have current registration and insurance, but I am about 1,000% sure they will let you run all the events in the exhibition class and I'm quite certain everyone at the event would be happy to have you guys there.

Good news for those, like yourself, who have been patiently waiting... With 100% certainty, we'll be on cable starting in July. Look for an announcement coming very soon with more specific details.

This is a great suggestion. We did run in the first optima batteries OUSCI back in '08. Maybe it would be fun to run again.

      Carl,

We'll check that out. Big Red is still a registered street car.

Since when do they not allow race fuel? I've run several of their events, used race fuel and so have others, never seen or heard of an issue with it.

Tim, I thought it specified in the rulebook they don't allow it, but I guess it's open to interpretation. I know at the actual events they don't care if you run 98 from the track pumps. I'm not one of the people that care about any of the "street car" rules, but you know full well there are all kinds of people on these forums that do. I didn't mean anything by the comment. I was just stating some of the things other people would probably bitch about if Big Red ran and others would probably protest. I didn't know the car was still registered and licensed. I really hope to see or hear about RJ running a USCA event. I didn't intend on the comment starting a debate. I just hope to see Big Red once in my life.

Pikes Peak USCA would be a good one to get out of Cali for a bit, and I would love to see this monster in person. There is also the Sandhills open road event in Nebraska this summer, but I don't remember the specifics on that.
