      Hello Everyone at Pro-Touring

      Hello everyone,

I am a new member to pro-touring.com Ive seen you guys at events taking pictures and doing write ups on awesome cars and drivers. Just want to introduce myself a little. My name is David Carroll and I own a 1975 Datsun 280z. Its not stock by any means and has a LS1/T56 combo with a soon to be R230 viscous rear end out of a 300zx twin turbo. I did pretty much all the work myself getting the car built and ready for the road, autocross and track with the help of a few friends along the way of course. I recently was involved in the Ultimate Street Car Challenge at Thunder Hill Raceway in February where I had the great opportunity to run my Z against some of the top drivers in the states. Surprisingly enough I was given the K&N Spirit of the Event award which gave me the chance to have my Z at SEMA and to run in the finals at Las Vegas Speedway in November. Since receiving this award in February it has opened up several doors into the automotive world. Ive been able to receive several sponsorships including; Falken Tire, Spectre, K&N, Tilden Motorsports, King Muffler, Testcardatabase.com and several others. I hope to meet many of you at the SEMA show along with many of you that will be attending the OUSCI finals. A few other things that you may not know if that I do my best to attend all local Goodguys autocross events with my car including Del Mar and Pleasanton. My goal is to make it into the PRO class this year to where I could get a chance to compete in Arizona for the shootout. As often as I can you will find me at SCCA autocross events and from time to time on the track running my Z to its limit against some of the coolest cars around. My Z has earned the nick name "BASS TRACKER Z" for its heavy old school metallic flake multi color paint job. THANK YOU CHAD REYNOLDS AND ROB PHILLIPS for that!!! I hope to meet many of you in the weeks and months to come.

      David,

You've built a sweet Z! And in a pretty short period of time. I'm impressed with your perseverance on your project and driving skill too.

It was great getting together last weekend so I could put my camera to use.

Welcome! And I do like your car, I was admiring it at Del Mar. I've always been into domestics, but I have a strong desire to build an early Z car someday.
