New Guy from South Eastern New England

      Hey guys,

Just introducing myself as I am officially starting my build on a Cherry Red 1968 Mustang Coupe. Goal is to make it mean with a bit a class and everyday driveability but no slouch on the track. I don't have infinite funds as I am a recent college graduate (24 yo) so it will be a little bit of a budget build and I also hope to do most work myself (albeit with limited experience) and hope to use this project as a fun learning tool with a great product as a result. I want to do a a Hotchkis TVS system with leafs and wilwood brake kit as my first steps as well as http://www.team3wheels.com/lt_iii.html these in either 17" or 18" (already posted in wheel section for opinions) and I will be aiming to give the car a modern touring- trans am racer vibe. Cheers! pics will follow

Because I'm still in the initial stages of this project I'm still open to other platforms as well. Specifically, I found a Plymouth Satellite going for $6000 in running, driving condition. What are the pros and cons of each platform and whats the performance potential in torsion bars for a pro-touring application?

Greeting from Fall River, MA. dollar for dollar you could probably build the mustang cheaper than a Mopar ( trust me, I have 2 Mopars ).

I figured as much especially because of how many people have done builds on early mustangs but its the unique look of the Plymouth that intrigues me. Also good to know there's guys on here from the area, I just moved to the Cape in December. There's a guy offering a '71 satellite for $6k as a driver with a 318ci auto. I figure I may be able to trade him my mustang as well as get some cash for it.
