LS2 / L3 heads comp cam. DOD question

Ok so i have an 07 trailblazer ss engine with a ls3 heads on it and a comp cam. and im running a holley ecu. i remember reading somewhere but havnt been able to find it again yet that i might need to plug the oil ports on the ls2 block under the intake valley cover since im not running the stock ecu and there system or something along those lines. or something about orings to prevent some type of oil leak or pressure leak. if someone knows kinda what im talking about can you shed some like for me. or even if you can explain the DOD, VVT, AFM systems

      thanks

Yes. One of the options is to get the valley cover like on an L92 that has the o-rings built into it. I have also seen engine builders tap the holes and use plugs. That might be the cheapest way to go. Problem with that on a built motor is the shavings that might get into the motor if it is not cleaned properly.

This should be everything you need to complete the swap.

i just called scoggin dickey they said that the ls2 valley covers all come with the built in orings actually so they are already plugged off i guess...they said the 5.3l and other engines came with the dod but the 6.0 trailblazer shouldnt need to be plugged. anyone on here can confirm that?

If the valley cover is flat then the oil holes are already plugged. A DOD valley cover has visible oil passages running all over the place.

TBSS shouldn't have DOD. An LS2 valley cover is the easiest solution though a TBSS should have this cover already
