      Is this safe?

I hope this is the right thread for this. I am running new PTFE fuel line (-6 supply and return) and I wanted to add a connection near the front for a future engine swap / servicing. It is between the subframe and pinch weld on the passenger side and tucks up above the lowest part of the pinch weld. I wanted to keep it away from exhaust which is why I chose to route it this way. After I mounted it I came to realize that may not be the best spot if I ever get in an accident. My fear is that the bulkhead fittings would shear and cause a huge fuel leak. Even with the pump off it would likely still siphon the tank if a fitting broke. I thought about maybe finding stainless bulkhead fittings for strength or making a steel bracket to protect it
      .

I picked up some steel bulkhead fittings, that should help make the connection be able to handle some abuse. Do any of you see an issue here or should I just leave it alone?

So long as nothing comes in contact with them you will probably be fine, just don't go skidding off a track or his stumps or anything and you should be fine.

I think it would be fine, but if you have some concerns, a "skid plate" that is removable out of like 5/16" steel and you will be good, even against those tree stumps in the middle of the road.

Yeah maybe I will just go the skidplate route to be safe. I'm not really worried about the hose, just the fittings

I agree with the skid plate idea if you have concerns. Just make it easily removable.
