      1969 camaro/firebird backspace

Would a 4.5 backspace work on the front with 2 inch lowered springs on 18 wheel

Depends in how wide of a tire you want to use.

Not sure if that will work without rubbing in front. I have a 69 Camaro and I plan to use 235/35/18 on front with 18x8 with 4.5 BS and 265/35/18 on rear with 18x9 with 5.25 BS on rear. I'm going a little conservative on tire size.

You need 4 and 3/4 backspace. I'm running 245/45-17 on 17x8 with 4-3/4 backspace on my 69 Camaro. Slight touch on the frame rail on the inside tire at full lock

Yes, it should work, key word is should. All of these cars are a little different, what fits one may fit another a bit differently, no computer helping put these cars together, and in 46 years since they were assembled, "**** happens"
That being said, my 69 Bird is running 17X9 on all four corners (4 7/8 backspacing) 255/40 in front / 275/40 in rear, the right side front tire touching the frame in a full crank autocross situation, but it's not hurting anything. Measure, then measure again, when you think you it's gonna fit, purchase and then deal with what you got, good luck!

4.5" BS would push the wheel out 1/4" more than yours and lessen the chance of rubbing on the subframe.

I think im going with a 4.75 backspace front since i tought they only offered a 4.5 backspace so a 9 wide with 5.25 backspace is right 3 inchs lowered rear

      On my 69 Camaro I'm running 245/40's on 18 x 8 w/ 4.75 BS (front) and 275/40's on 18 x 9.5 w/ 5.5 BS (rear). 2" drop front & rear.

Thank you, I know but then I would be into the fender and I seldom hit full lock except in parking lots at low speed
