      Finch overflow vent size

I just picked up a Finch fuel vent canister and have to say that it is a REALLY nice piece. I will be mounting it in the trunk. The Aeromarine pump I have (Aeromarine 340) calls for a -6an vent, but the Finch says to run a -4an. I am tight on space so running -4 would be a great option. Can I downsize the vent? Supply and return will be -6.

Most vent lines are 1/4 nipples anyway, I don't see a problem there.

Thanks Dale. Of course pipe (NPT) has always made me wonder. Tubing is usually OD and AN is ID but NPT is neither. 1/4" NPT is close to 3/8", and 1/8" NPT is more like 1/4". The larger NPT sizes are the same. They refer to it as "nominal" but it's really not close. Anyway if you think I can get away with -4 then I am good to go
