      FORD and MOPARs in here

Check out my posts in the Forum Requests, Feedback and FAQ.

We need to encourage diversity in pro-touring. I know there are many of you out there, and you need to be heard. If your friends like pro-touring get them involved also.

Post more, get others to join, and when a suggestion like, "hey that's have a who seperate engine swap forum that only applies to one manufacturer even though theres a whole site already dedicated to it" let them know how you feel.

I think there are plenty of mopars and FMC owners out there who are interested in building protouring cars and trucks. If we can get them involved, eventually more manufacturers of parts for those brands will come as well. This will improve the balance the types of vehicles and enhancing the learning experience.

There is a lot of talent here, but probably a lot more we are missing out on because of this.

I'd love to see more Dodges, Mercurys, Lincolns, Plymouths, and orphan brands.

      Mike,

I agree with you that Pro-Touring could use more diversity, although there already are some very diverse cars being built out there. However, I think you need to do a bit more research on LSX swaps which is what I'm sure you're referring to. People are swapping these motors into everything under the sun, from old school Ford Street rods, to fox body stangs, to Mazdas, etc. LSX swaps certainly do not only apply to GM cars.

I bet if people knew there was a place to talk about it (ask questions, give advice, etc.) more people would do it.

There are actually quite a few of us here... I ran a thread early this year requesting non GM folks to post, and I was surprised by how many of us there were. Sure, we're still no match for the Chevheads or F-body guys, but that's part of the gig with the "road less traveled".

Ultimately, I think the Ford folks lump their own version of pro-touring under that all-encompassing term "restomod" and there are plenty of forums that focus on that brew. And as for the Mopar folks, they're an odd bunch even by their own account. Mopars have been firmly invested in other build styles for long time, but it's found its way into the mainstream in that group. Goodness knows that they've had dozens of beautiful idyllic examples to drool over for the last 5 years. I've noticed more and more posting in the "newbies" forum, but I do wonder why they don't post more.

Well - I'm here with a MOPAR: 1968 Dodge Charger. Anyone who has ever tried to build a car knows that they are never finished.

1964 Merucry Comet soon to be kind of pro-touring...I hate the restomod classification. Just annoys me for some reason!

Been here quite a bit with my 70 Mach. I'll be on a lot more this winter when I start putting stuff on it and get a new computer and internet access at home.

Hey I kinda have a mopar, happens to be late model but still a bunch of old school tech in it, mixed with some viper parts and what not. Wow what a *******ized homologation I have, never realised that till just now.

I have a few MOPARs (okay 5). I find that despite being a little Chevy heavy this site is extremly helpful and informative for all brands. Personally I feel that keeping the entire forum mixed is good. If I want a brand specific forum I can go surf one.

I've been lurking for a while now, but I spend so much time on the Mopar boards, I forget to stop by here to see what's up. Fact is, when I go to shows to see what's new and different, I don't spend too much time looking at the Mopars. Most of the new & interesting ideas are on the "alternative makes" anyway, so I spend a good bit if time checking out how things get done with REAL aftermarket support. Helps me sort out how I want to do things by showing me something outside what I'm used to seeing in the Mopar world. If I can remember my username here, I'll try to stop in more often...

Even some of us Chevy Guys have a little FERD in 'em ( no I did not misspell), check out my corral. I also have owned a '66 Mustang A code and an '84 GT (the crappy 155 hp FI version, God the early mid 80's sucked). My '62 is built like a tank and I like it that way. Too bad the front I-beam doesn't work too well for PT. Then again, you nver really have to worry about camber gain, right? . . . .

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?
