      Aeromotive Phanom positioning

Contrary to what the thread title says, I'm about to pull the trigger on an Aeromotive Dual PHANTOM system, but was curious as to where exactly to install it. I'm having a custom tank built and would like to have the holes for the pump laser cut into the top piece instead of drilling it afterward. I was thinking that the center (left to right) of the tank would be best, but what about front to rear? My original thought was to keep it as far rearward as possible, to fight starvation under acceleration. It comes with a foam bladder and I intend to fill the tank with foam, but thought any help due to location would be a benefit. I don't plan to have the car sit with any rake whatsoever, but you never know how it will get dialed in. That being said, I'm second guessing myself on the rearward location and wondering if as far forward as possible would be a better idea in case of some rake in the stance.
      Am I over thinking this?
Any/all thoughts and comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

PSS: Fuel level sender is not installed and hasn't been determined yet either.

The instructions for the Phantom 200 say to mount it in the deepest part of the tank. That ended up being in the front quarter of a flat wedge shaped tank. I haven't had any fuel starvation issues yet. I used to run into problems when the tank got below a quarter with the stock pickup but I can run down to E now with no problems.

      LemonTwisted,
Thanks for the reply of your firsthand experience. I did read through the instructions and saw that it said mount in deepest part of the tank. The tank I'm having built is pretty much flat except for the chamfer at the rear of the tank, and I think I may have been over thinking it a bit. I currently have the holes in the 'front' of the tank, and I think I'll just leave them there.
      Thanks again for your input!

I have the Phantom pump in my C10 tank. I centered it left to right but all the way forward due to the bottom of the tank being angled with the deepest part in front. So far no fuel issues even going down to 1/8 of a tank!

Herb, thanks a lot for chiming in! Sounds like your tank is set-up like the pic of the model I posted above. The chamfer on my tank is at the rear of the car and the rest of the tank is just a rectangle. I'm glad to hear both of the personal scenarios you guys have shared. I'm gonna roll with the design above!
      Thanks guys!

One other question, are you guys running the factory fuel level sending unit?

I'm running the factory sending unit, just plugged up the fuel outlet with fuel tank epoxy.

I have an aftermarket tank and level sender but I was able to use the factory level sender wire to connect to the gauge. My tank is shaped like in your model, but the flat part on the bottom only goes about 6" from front to back, then the rest of the bottom angles up.

Starting at post #155 on my C10forum thread, I have some pictures of the pump install in case you're interested.

The level sender came with the tank so I don't know what brand it is. I got the tank from Brothers Trucks.
