      Speedtech torque arm install

Hello I am in the process of installing the speedtech torque arm is a 1967 Camaro. I have everything removed the frame rails cleaned. I have installed the 2 supplied mounts that bolt into the rear bump stop mounts. I postioned the cross member for trial fit and found approximately a 1/4 inch space on each side between cross member and frame rail. What are you guys doing for this? Is everyone just welding the bottom side?

I made a full frame rail reinforcement plate and then added a 3/16 plate to take up the gap between the frame rail and the Speed Tech upper cross member. In your case it would just be the 1/4 plate to take up the gap. I didn't personally like that large of a gap between the cross member & the frame rail and on top of that it would of been only welded on the bottom part of the cross member.

When I spoke to Blake on the phone he said it would be fine but I added the plate anyways. Doesn't hurt and the factory frame rails are weak as is. I also added a bunch of extra spot welds to the factory frame rails.
