67 Camaro Ridetech Tru Turn hitting my headers

Anyone have this issue? I was on the home stretch of my ridetech Tru Turn install, got to the drivers side tie rod and it wont clear the header tube. I have long tube headers on a LT1 in my 67 Camaro. The headers are brand new so I hate to yank them, can I get longer pitman arm and idler arm that would in affect move my drag link bar forward a bit??, I only need about 2 inches. I thought I read somewhere that Camaros have 3 different length pitman arms. Mine currently measures about 5.75 inches center to center. Will it mess up my geometry if I go with longer Pitman? I am so bummed, any feedback greatly appreciated. What headers will clear Tru Turn with a LS1?

67 Camaro Ridetech Tru Turn hitting my headers

I'm dealing with that whole header issue right now too. You would have to ask one of the ridetech guys but the only fix I have found so far is the dynatech headers. I'm trying to figure out if any one has used any other headers without cutting and moving around one of the pipes.

I have a similar issue using Lemon's BBC headers. I was considering just not using their center link portion of the kit but I'm not sure how well that would work as far as safe geometry was concerned.

Any ridetech reps care to weigh in on this?

Same dilemma today for me. 1969 camaro small block with Doug's headers. Called ride tech they suggested mid length headers.

I had the same issues with my SBC and Doug's headers. We ended up having to cut and reroute the header and have them recoated. An unfortunate added expense and 2 weeks of time.

      Works great now though.

Dynatech 740-11310 are suppose to work, with plenty of room.

Ultimate Headers work great and make good power. http://ultimateheaders.com/

I'm a dealer if any need them. I helped Jim do the test fitments on many applications.

If you Google pozziracing.com he's done a lot of research on pitman arm and steering arm lengths as well as a ton of other stuff.

I suspect if you start changing parts you'll defeat the tru-turn design intent
