Radiator size vs opening in rad support

Ok, so the engine is out as well as the radiator, now the question is: since the rad supt opening is smaller than the radiator (ie, some of the radiator cooling fins are not exposed to airflow) should I take the time to enlarge the opening to maximize potential cooling? It is a couple of inches on each side of the radiator, or am I just wasting my time?
please chime in, I would love to hear your thoughts,,,,,Ray

If you can, do it. Any additional airflow is better in the long run. Do you NEED it? Possibly not. But since the rad is bigger you may as well enlarge the opening.

We agree with Dale, the larger the available air space coming in, the better
