Street Outlaws on Discovery

Anyone watch Street Outlaws on the Discovery channel? I do not in any way condone street racing and in point of fact the producers do not allow the guys to actually race on the open road. That said, damn those cars are impressive!

All of the big "street races" where they have tons of lights set up are done at an airport in North Oklahoma City, but the testing runs are really done on open roads. My only problem is that they say they have the fastest "street cars" in the country but they show up to the races on a trailer. I'd be more impressed if they drove them to the races haha

The only thing impressive is the cars, the "acting " is the absolute worst horse s**t ever. I realize that the "racing" is fake and not on real roads. There are others who do/would believe this to be opposite. This is why I don't watch it and think every bit of it is crap. It still promotes illegal street racing. Giving others in the hobby and industry a bad name and image. These are things the honest people have fought for, for how long? So the long arm of the law doesn't just assume that you are a bad guy.
As of right now in Ontario if you're caught driving more then 50km (31mph) over the speed limit your car is impounded and license suspended for 7 days. Then you get to go to court and argue why you shouldn't be charged with "stunt" driving and why they shouldnt give you a 10000$ fine......all this do to street racing. So at 2 am I can't "stretch" her legs a Lil when nobody is around. For the record the highest hwy speed we have in Ontario is 100km (62) mph. So the fastest you would ever want to drive is still no more then 150 km (93) mph

The show should be canceled let's be honest education level.....0 entertainment level....3 so what good does it provide

I've never seen a street race where you had light plants and race trailers galore but is definitely still technically street racing. That said, I love the show. The cars are top notch drag cars and stupid fast. These guys aren't actors just normal people so what do you expect. Street racing is still dangerous and shouldn't be shown on TV but heck I'll watch it if they're going to show it.

Let me correct something that I said, the "acting" isn't the people its the crap scenarios that are created to add to the DRAMA....which is where I have issues. Let's be honest you want to show crazy fast cars then cool do it but, don't tell me that farmtruck had a garage sale and made no money cause the police gave him some tickets and then someone's girlfriend took some and.............. Just show the races and maybe I'll try to watch it for the third time . Please stop lying to me that what your showing is "real" or even reinacted

I LOVE drag racing and still go till this day to nhra and psca events. That said, to be there in person and see "behind the scenes" is the best part to me. I've watched it on TV and it's completely boring. Seeing them tear apart the cars and rebuild the motors and get a look at there at ups is pretty cool.

If the show just showed the racing without the behind the scenes building, tear downs, Fake fights, comical aspects then it wouldn't be entertainment, it would just be a 1320 YouTube video that's an hour long. Boring. Its like if people just posted up a before and after picture of there builds without all the details in between there wouldn't be a need for this site and it would just be boring. The information and steps people do to get to there finished builds is the best part. It's entertainment. It's better then watching honey boo boo, Kardashians or duck dynasty,which are all fake and staged as well. If you think realty shows are realty. ... well...

They get to say street car because in TX and OK you could register your kids radio flyer wagon if you wanted.

The guys on the show are actual street racers that know which side their bread is buttered on. They get paid to do the show, paid to put high priced parts on their cars, they sell mountains of tshirts, and the ones that own shops make a bunch of money from the advertising Discovery does for them.

They also aren't the fastest, just the best marketed.

Your right about the other shows being fake too and I also love the rebuild... garage stuff just not the bullsh** fake fights and such..hey either way you have your opinion and I have mine. Cheers.

I really disliked the show the first couple episodes but it grew on me. The cars are cool and the garage friendship/banter is fun to watch. The only part I dont enjoy is the fighting. The callout are kind of hokey as well. You already know each other and have been racing one another for years. Do you really have to create drama?

I haven't been "Hooked" on the show. I've tried watching, especially since 2 of the cars have a lot of BMR parts, but I just can't get into the show. I'm not sure why!

She's shown in 5th in the unlimited class for 2014 Drag Week. If I remember right, she was a track racer that was put onto the show.

I think the show is complete garbage and is completely staged. YES its a road, YES they race on it. . . But clearly the road is blocked off lights are rolled in and there is nothing illegal about it. PLUS Promods are not street cars, these guys are not running pump gas.

On that note, I watch every episode because its better then the other crap on TV these days

I watch the show just beacuse i love drag racing . But thats got to be the longest 1/8 mile racing i have ever seen ,also wish they would show the tire burout before each race and dont think there the fastest in the nation.
