since the inner rockers were bad, I am gonna weld in some 2x3 tubing then go from there.....
will keep posting pix as progress continues.....
the car is gonna get a 350/350 since I have it
ft suspension is gonna be a simple gmod & coilovers for now....
nothing earth shattering but a hopefully fun street car.....

& yet another 2 days in the shop......doesn't look like much progress, but I had to repair some of my body shops 'repairs'. if I knew then what I know now.....
anyways, rear tubs installed, some of the zillion panels also made but not yet installed....everything will get welded together to re-create a unit body....Tom will finish Tig'ing the chassis friday methinks.....probably do the rear mount batt box & trunk floor tomorrow......

another few days of work with not alot to show in pix. I borrowed a late camaro wheel just to see what it would look like....tire way too tall & offset isn't right.....hope to find a curbed front vette wheel to try next....proving hard to come by. I can mod the control arms to accept a 10" wide real wheel, but not wanting to do that just yet.....

some d/s hoop fun & putting in oe rear floors.....upper panel reflects some pullmax goofing around.... still looking at 'easy' rear seat cushion options...

rear floor done.....rear 1/2 oe floor pans welded in....looking at seat bun options for rear sim-u-seat.... gotta bolt in top to assess headroom back there......
gonna get ft ride height finalized & remove stock subframe to finish up ft 1/2 of rockers & floor replacement...thinking of 5 1/2" fm subframe to ground....looking at spring options up front. picked up a alum driveshaft & adaptoids fm a GTO so that will get cut down to fit... looking at exhaust options, the oe rear floors hang down a bit lower than expected....they are too low for me to exit the exhaust thru the rockers.....of course the shorty ss headers hit the stock manual box so am looking at real issues with the planned IROC box..... I imagine the Jeep box isn't any smaller externally..... did source a c5 master & booster & calipers....need to hang ft sheetmetal to see how far I have to drop m/c to clear hood....same w/intake....I imagine a cowl hood is in my future for intake options.....we'll see... still trying to find c5 ft wheel to travel on the rear & see if they will work.....

approx ride height with too tall tires & ugly & cheap camaro steelies...245/55/18....Ignore all the crap draped over the top frame etc...have some 245/45's but saw a coupla GTO's running 275/35's at the Autofair... maybe that would work better.... wheels need a bit more offset in rearName: 0412150651.jpg
