      Aluminum Panels

Want to build aluminum panel interior (with rivets) and engine bay panels but need to know what material (6061, 5052, 3003, etc) and thickness to build them out of. They are not going to be structural but I dont want them to bend real easy either (if you happen to bump into them). Thoughts?

You should buy material from a circle track store. You can get sheet aluminum and rivets that will be plenty good enough for what you are planning. Here is a place you can get material from online.

Otherwise your best bet is to find a local race shop that builds bodies for dirt or asphalt oval track cars, they will be able to order you larger sheets or point you in the right direction as to where to find them within your area. The company I linked above has all the rivets you would need also.

6061, but don't bend it too sharp of a radius.
The stuff you usually get from a steel supply can have a lot of scratches from rough handling. See if you can buy plastic film coated aluminum.
