Domiion Raceway Construction Update
Work on the new Dominion Raceway located adjacent to I-95 at exit 118 in Thornburg VA is progressing nicely. The property has been cleared and the majority of the dirt work has been completed. You can clearly see the base grading for the road course, drag strip and oval track. The owner recently said in an interview that the 2 mile road course is scheduled to be open by April 2015, the three story entertainment building and oval track is scheduled to be open by August 2015 and the drag strip should open in 2016 with a go-kart track to follow after that. I know that both SCCA and NASA have been in communication with the Raceway to schedule events on the new road course.

Domiion Raceway Construction Update
That's very cool. I had heard rumors that construction had halted (due to lack of money) so I hope this is current, accurate info. It'll be creat to have another 'local' option in addition to Summit Point.

There were some behind the scenes issues that slowed progress for awhile but all that has been worked out and they are most definately back on track (no pun intended).

Cool. According to the website...
http://www.dominionraceway.com
The road course is advertised "available for rent" (read; finished construction) on 2/1/15.
