      12 bolt help

Don't know anything about rear ends. I have 454/t56 in a 68 camaro. Have been looking to change 10 bolt 273 to 12 bolt with 411 posi. Found a 12 bolt posi out of 68 geared 488. My questions are is this geared to high for my set up and is it hard to swap gears to 411? Trying not to break the bank and spend 3k on a brand new rear. I haven't had any luck looking for a 12 bolt posi that I'm not going to lose my shirt on.

the 4.88s will be a lot of gear for anything but 1/8 mile dragracing. you can have the diff regeared for any where between $400 to $1000 depending on the labor rates where you live and the parts needed. i would not suggest doing the swap your self. their several key adjustments and settings that are very easy to mess up if you dont know what your doing.

X2 not a job to be a beginner at!...remove the old axle and take it to someone else who can swap the gears for you. Then put the axle back in the car yourself. That should help with saving some cash
